My favorite thing about Engagement Sessions is getting to know my couples before their BIG day! Mallory and Daniel are currently not living in town but getting married here next year! We had spoken on the phone and have been texting back and forth but I hadn’t met them in person yet! I was thrilled to finally get to meet them and Mallory’s mom while they were in Louisville over the holiday weekend!

I was so worried we were going to get rained out because the chance for rain was something like 80% but the weather held up and the light was actually amazing! I went back to Anchorage Park for this session, I am always amazed how different the light and backdrop changes in this park as the seasons progress. (Fellow photogs, this park is such a gem with so many different spots! So much variety!)

Mallory and Daniel brought Winston who is THE. BEST. DOG. EVER! You all, he was off of the leash and a deer walked right in front of him. His ears perked up and he took a few steps, Daniel called his name and he stayed. I was amazed! If that was one of my dogs they would still be chasing that deer! Anyway, he was such a trooper!

I have soooo many favorites from this session, but I think my absolute favorite moments were the pictures from the very end of our session. It was so stinking hot and humid and we were wrapping it up but I wanted to grab a couple more shots in this new location I had found. I told them to hang out for a second while I readjusted my settings and I started snapping before I started directing them into a pose. THOSE are the pictures that I think tell the story of this sweet couple. The way they held on to each other, the way he whispered something in her ear to make her laugh, the way they were just relaxed. I was so happy to capture those images of them!

I can’t wait to be there for them on their wedding day!!!  Their big day will be here before you know it!!
